1. SCOPE
This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for rentals from Pain Cave Rentals, a trading name of Ahmad Ghoor, sole proprietor. It forms part of, and should be read with, our Rental Terms. If this policy conflicts with the Rental Terms, the Rental Terms apply.

2. NO DEPOSIT
No deposit is charged. Your card is stored securely by our payment provider (Payfast) and charged monthly in advance, starting on the booking date.

3. REFUND IF YOUR RENTAL CANNOT GO AHEAD
If your rental is not approved after identity and address verification, or we are unable to deliver, your first payment is refunded in full.

4. LATE DELIVERY
We deliver within 3 business days of booking in Gauteng and 5 business days elsewhere in South Africa, once verification is complete and your bicycle details have been supplied. If we deliver late for reasons within our control, the days of delay are credited against your next payment.

5. 7-DAY COOLING-OFF PERIOD
If you booked online, you may cancel within 7 days of delivery without giving a reason and without penalty, as provided for in section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. We refund all amounts paid, including any delivery charge, and collect the trainer at our cost.

6. CANCELLING YOUR RENTAL
You may cancel at any time by giving 20 business days’ written notice, either through My Rentals on paincave.bike or by emailing hello@paincave.bike.

• After the 3-month minimum period: no cancellation charge applies. You pay rental up to the date the cancellation takes effect.
• During the 3-month minimum period: a cancellation charge equal to one month’s rental applies (R450, R500 or R550, depending on your drive setup).
• Final part-month: charged per day at 1/30 of your monthly rental, up to the date the cancellation takes effect.

7. COLLECTION
When the cancellation takes effect, we arrange collection at the rental address. Collection is free within Gauteng and at our cost elsewhere in South Africa. Returned equipment is inspected against the condition record taken at delivery.

8. HOW REFUNDS ARE PAID
Refunds are paid to the card used for the original payment, normally within 7 business days of approval. Your bank may take additional time to reflect the refund, and this is outside our control.

9. NON-REFUNDABLE AMOUNTS
Outside the cooling-off period, the following are not refundable: rental for periods already used, the early cancellation charge, damage excess or repair charges, and charges for missing components, all as set out in the Rental Terms.
